Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 24, 2026
ByteBuster Tools is a 100% client-side utility website. We do not operate servers, maintain databases, or store user data. This policy reflects our privacy-by-design architecture.
1. What We Collect
Nothing. ByteBuster Tools does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, browsing data, or usage statistics. All processing occurs entirely within your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly.
- No user accounts — There is no registration, login, or user profile system.
- No cookies — We do not set or read any cookies, tracking pixels, or local storage for analytics.
- No server uploads — Files you process (images, PDFs, text) never leave your device.
- No IP logging — Our hosting provider may record standard connection metadata for network operations, but we do not access or store this data.
2. External API Calls
A small number of tools make anonymized external API calls strictly to fulfill their function:
- Breach Checker — Sends the first 5 characters of your SHA-1 hash to
api.pwnedpasswords.com(k-anonymity model). Your full password is never transmitted. - IP Lookup / VPN Leak Tester — Queries
ipapi.cousing your public IP address to return geolocation data. - SSL Decoder — Queries
crt.shfor certificate transparency logs of a domain you specify.
No personal identifiers are sent with these requests beyond what is inherent in the HTTP protocol. These are third-party services with their own privacy policies.
3. Data Retention
ByteBuster Tools does not retain any data. Any information you enter into a tool is ephemeral and cleared when you close or refresh the page. We have no database, no backup system, and no mechanism to recover your data.
4. Third-Party Libraries
We use several open-source libraries (PDF.js, Tesseract.js, pdf-lib, Chart.js, Compromise.js) that are loaded from our own server or, as a fallback, from public CDNs. These libraries operate entirely client-side and do not send data to their authors.
5. Your Rights
Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, delete, or port. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
6. Changes to This Policy
If our architecture changes and data collection becomes necessary, we will update this policy and note the change at the top of this page.
